The Distribution Team

We are a small group of eight based at the print site in Broxbourne. We manage over 60 daily routes and work with a number of partners to ensure that our street presence is second to none. You will be joining a relaxed, friendly but extremely hard working office environment.

Job purpose

This role manages the administration and circulation teams, responsible for ensuring that the right copies are delivered to the right locations, that the correct information is recorded to ensure that we are compliant for audit purposes, and that the operation at the point of delivery is maximising sale.

About the role:

ESI Media is constantly evolving as a data-informed business. A Senior Data Analyst is needed to ensure the newsroom has an analytics environment which meets current business needs and future aspirations of the editorial teams.

This role requires an outstanding Analyst who can provide regular and proactive business insights to the content team from a variety of data sources used by the publisher, in particular social media and video analytics. It is also the role of the Senior Data Analyst to respond to and shape requests from key stakeholders for data that can be applied to these business areas to improve customer engagement and retention, shape product development and increase revenues.

The candidate needs to be able to distinguish between the delivery of data and the delivery of insights that are of use to the business.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Analytics Manager, the candidate’s key responsibilities include:

  • Compilation of regular and proactive editorial and management insight reports from key data sources, specialising in social media and video analytics.
  • Building bespoke BI dashboards for various business stakeholders to help report key performance metrics from multiple data sources
  • Identification of key audience or interest-based trends and insights from the data sources which could have product development or business applications, and working closely with the relevant content and business teams to act on the findings.

The finance team consists of 18 people covering management and financial accounting, accounts receivable and accounts payable. The Finance Department looks after all of the Group companies – Evening Standard Ltd (ESL), Independent Print Ltd (IPL), Independent Digital News and Media Ltd (DIG), Independent Digital News and Media Inc. (DUS), London Live (ETV) and Lebedev Holdings Ltd (LHL).

About you

· The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, a logical approach to managing and prioritising their day and workload and have experience using SUN Systems & Q&A analysis module

With a market leading proposition, deep agency relationships and the latest ad technologies, this role is set up for a driven, switched on Account Executive. You will feel confident pitching, presenting and responding to briefs, all with a consultative approach. Technical understanding is certainly a plus but more important is an ability to prospect and establish new relationships while meeting/exceeding quarterly revenue goals.

You will report to the US Head of Programmatic Partnerships, work closely with the traditional sales and operation teams and spend the majority of your time finding opportunities to maximize programmatic revenues across the ESI network.

You will already have a demonstrable track record in pitching programmatic solutions to agencies and advertisers as well as an ability to manage a pipeline to ensure successful delivery against quarterly revenue targets. Preference will be given to candidates who possess an established roster of advertiser and agency buyer contacts.

1-2 year’s minimum experience of selling to programmatic buyers is preferred.

We are looking for a highly creative and versatile Mid-weight Designer to support our internal Consumer Marketing team. As the lead designer for marketing, y ou’ll interpret and implement the creative vision for a broad range of marketing materials, assets and advertising campaigns – both print, digital, social and motion taking direction from the Head of Consumer Marketing.

The successful candidate must be willing to develop ideas and executions from an initial brief and therefore have experience in presenting ideas and concepts, sourcing feedback and then working final versions/variants for approval.

The Role

The Data Team

The ESI data team provides analysis, reporting and insight across The Independent and Evening Standard brands, enabling the business to make data-informed decisions. Areas of responsibility include data analytics, the commercial use of data, CRM and subscription marketing.

Job Purpose

You will be responsible for providing the commercial sales team and wider business with data and insights that support the strategic objectives of the business and help to increase revenues for the company’s digital media properties.

The Senior Commercial Data Analyst will be the lead technical advisor on ESI’s data management platform, supporting different areas of the business including trading, creative solutions, digital sales, and partnerships/sponsorship. They will support the Commercial Data Analyst and Commercial Data Manager in extracting and analysing data from our data analytics and data management platforms to create compelling data-informed insight stories for the business and the commercial team.
