Job Purpose

ESI Media is constantly evolving as a data-informed business. A Data Solutions Analyst is needed to help support the continuing development of ESI’s systems and platforms.

This role requires an outstanding solutions analyst who can drive the delivery of the transformation of ESI’s data systems. ESI have invested in the Domo Business Intelligence platform and Google Big Query. The usage of these applications need to be further extended throughout the business.

The candidate needs to be able to build out Extract Transform and Load routines into Domo. They will also have to design new underlying database structures within Domo to support reporting and dashboard requirements. They will also need to develop new SQL routines from Big Query to support the business analysis and reporting requirements.

The Data Team

The ESI Media data department provides analysis, reporting and insight across The Independent and Evening Standard brands, enabling the business to make data-informed decisions. The team also extends to identity management for registered users and subscribers, customer services and data privacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building out new data flows from source systems to support ESI’s BI tool
  • Designing data structures within our BI Tool Domo
  • Developing new and maintaining existing Python jobs

The Senior Commercial and Trading Performance Manager will be the subscriptions commercial performance expert across ESI Media, focusing on Independent Premium and The Independent Daily Edition brands. Trading insights, performance forecasts and delivery of customer and P&L results are key outputs of this role.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the drivers of trading performance at a route-to-market and customer segment level, working collaboratively with the wider team to ensure that all available levers are utilised to optimise customer & P&L performance in-quarter.

The Role

The acting travel editor will be responsible for heading up the entire travel section, covering everything from breaking news and features to commercial round-ups and live blogs. They will liaise with other desks to ensure the smooth running of the travel section.

  • Propose, pitch and close business for existing clients, manage pipelines, maintain knowledge of market activity.
