The Sponsorship Manager will be skilled across multi-platforms, have a good understanding of the media landscape and an appreciation of what works well for readers, providing the perfect balance to deliver effective campaigns for brands.

About you

Key responsibilities

  • Revenue generation – To meet the sales targets set with specific responsibility for achieving budgets set for digital lifestyle sponsorships.
  • Pro-active – to continually identify, improve and increase the level of proactive ideas for key clients and categories. Selling directly to clients, senior agency buyers, partnership units within media agencies and directly to PR agencies and sports marketing agencies.
  • Tactical – To improve our reputation by responding to Lifestyle current affairs or market intelligence in real-time with relevant creative ideas to key clients and categories.

The role

Working in a vibrant environment, you will be responsible for leading two members of the event operations team to manage and deliver of all ESI Live’s events on time, to budget and to a standard that enhances and reinforces brands, as well as delivering and exceeding the expectations of sponsors. Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Head of Events and senior directors to set the strategy for ESI Live.
  • To ensure effective delivery of ESI Live’s portfolio of events on time, to budget and to a standard that enhances and reinforces brands, as well as delivering and exceeding expectations of sponsors.
  • Create, maintain and monitor P&L for all events, working creatively to maintain cost control and quality of event, including negotiating with venues, suppliers, contractors etc.
  • Deliver and improve on budget with specific emphasis on cost control and accurate forecasting, whilst ensuring total security on the quality of the event.
  • Ensure effective negotiation and build relations with all suppliers, in order to create and maintain a preferred supplier list.
  • Manage, motivate and lead current operational events team, by effective management skills and leading by example, whilst ensuring training and development needs are met and that the team deliver their KPI’s.

Job purpose

The Technical Operations Lead will be reporting to the Director of Advertising Operations and will be main point of contact for the day-to-day ad technology projects and specific tasks in order to complete them effectively and in a timely manner while still maintaining high quality.

The Operations team

The operations team consists of 4 main parts: Campaign management, Programmatic Operations, Data and Yield and Ad technology.

The Data Team

  • Compilation of regular reports to help editorial stakeholders monitor relevant KPIs using key data sources, specialising in social media, SEO and video analytics.
  • Contribute to standard daily and weekly reports on website performance as well as post-event analysis for major traffic driving events.

About you

You will feel confident pitching, presenting and responding to briefs, all with a consultative approach. Technical understanding is certainly a plus but more important is a willingness and ability to learn.

The Digital Agency Sales Team

The Digital Agency Sales Team will be representing ESI Media across the whole agency including the trading desks, digital and planning teams. The objective is to maximise digital display revenues via direct and programmatic channels. Members of this team are the first point of call for ESI Media’s digital business and the agency.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Propose, pitch and close business for existing clients, manage pipelines, maintain knowledge of market activity.
  • Build strong relationships with agency digital planning, buying and trading teams at relevant levels through regular communication, meetings and entertainment as appropriate.
  • Establish new business through structured pitches and pipeline management to dormant clients within agency/buyer portfolio.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of designated agencies and clients, their strategies and approaches.
  • Work closely with the Ops team to ensure the full delivery and optimisation of campaigns.

  • Agency direct or programmatic sales experience; ideally with a publisher, ad network, ad tech or agency.
